This year STARS Tutor of the Year is Mr. Robert Garrett and the STARS Mentor of the Year is Ms. Katie Ziesmer. The announcements were made at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner last week. (more…)
We Have a Lot of Winners October 17, 2008

We have a lot of winners. We went to the Anne Arundel County Mentoring Awards last night and we have a lot of winners. The only one that was formally recognized was Tip Fallon, he was selected as a runner up for mentor of the year. But we all had a chance to think about the value of mentoring and see a lot of examples of mentoring programs from across the area. And with our mentors, and Mrs. Coliton’s leadership we have a lot of winners in the Woodland Job Corps program. Every time one of our mentors takes the chance to be an adult friend to one of the students, both of them are winners from the exchange.
I’ll be able to post a picture or two later, so if you don’t see one yet, check back soon.
