We don’t know anything for certain, but we think that one of the STARS mentors has an award coming on Thursday at the awards ceremony. Mrs. Coliton was asked to be sure that a certain mentor was in attendance on Thursday. She works hard to gain recognition for her volunteers, so this would be great news to be able to share with the others in STARS, at Woodland, and at the regional and national headquarters.
If you don’t know, the Woodland STARS program is a pace setter in developing mentors, tutors, and systems to reach the students through the national STARS initiative. But anyone who knows her knows that Mrs. Coliton runs the program with a passion for students and volunteers that cannot be surpassed. When her volunteers get recognized, it’s a great time for her too, seeing her “family” acknowledged for their hard work.
