I am involved with the Woodland STARS volunteer tutoring and mentoring program in Laurel MD. This is not an official blog for the program, just the observations of an observer. I will also try to keep a calendar of upcoming events to be a resource for the program.
STARS (Speakers, Tutors, Achievement, Retention, Success) works with at-promise youth through the Job Corps, sponsored by the Department of Labor. Woodland STARS is at the Woodland Job Corps Center in Laurel MD. We currently have students waiting for tutors and/or mentors. Training & support is provided.
