Muhammad Ali beats Sonny Liston and is crowned heavyweight Champion of the world; The Ford Mustang is officially unveiled to the U.S. public; Nelson Mandela is sentenced to life in prision; President signs Civil Rights Act abolishing racial segregation in the U.S.; Walt Disney’s Movie Mary Poppins had World Premiere in Los Angeles; and Dr. Martin Luther King receives Nobel Peace Prize?
Once you have determined the answer find the man on center that has the same last name as the President of the U.S. during that year and give them the answer.

The importance of appearance June 18, 2011

At Job Corps,a big emphasis is on preparation for the workforce. In the workforce, and the world, appearance can say a lot before you even open your mouth. We encourage all our volunteers to reinforce this when they are on center with the students.
If you want a good example to share with the students just read up about a young person who did not make an appropriate wardrobe choice, and got in trouble for it, here. Not to say that the student was the only one at fault, but there was enough lack of wisdom to go around.
